The Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano Foundation is the main shareholder of CRF SpA and was created from Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano, which, following the restructuring process required by Law 218/90, transferred its banking activities to the joint-stock company in 1991, while maintaining the Foundation's traditional institutional and grant-making activities. It is a non-commercial entity, with full capacity under public and private law, subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Being the natural continuation of the Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano, founded in 1905, the Foundation traces its origins and historical roots to the Monte di Pietà, established with a deed dated 23 January 1591 drawn up by Araudino, which arose through the spontaneous donation of the Municipality of Fossano and many citizens of Fossano. The Foundation manages its assets in the interest of the local community from which they historically originate, for its development and valorization, and pursues objectives of public interest and social utility.
